As always with a new version of PagePlus, our developers listen to your suggestions on ways to making working smoother through interface improvements. In PagePlus X4 you can edit multiple documents more efficiently with a tabbed interface like modern internet browsers, and it’s easier to open files by dragging and dropping into PagePlus X4 from Windows Explorer. Also, the active Studio tab is easier to identify with inactive tabs a darker shade.
New Dynamic Layout Assistants
While you have total freedom to move any elements anywhere on your pages, you’ll often want headlines, frame text, pictures, flashes, tables, or callouts to be neatly aligned. This is easier than ever with PagePlus X4’s dynamic magnetic snapping – objects can automatically align with each others’ centres or edges as you move them around. And there’s an expanded set of snapping options with a new adjustment for snapping sensitivity, so you can choose just how helpful PagePlus X4 is with your layouts.
Keep Text and Pictures Together While Designing
PagePlus X4 can keep associated text and pictures together even when editing forces some text onto a different page. Graphics used to be either totally free floating or inline, tethered within a text frame – now you can maintain a picture or drawing’s position relative to specific text, a column, frame, margin or page, inside or outside the text frame, and it remains fully editable. So once you’ve achieved the perfect layout and then need to change or move some text, you don’t need to redesign your whole page.
Even Better Word Processing
Improvement to Word Processing make PagePlus even better when creating and editing text, with more flexibility than your typical word processor. PagePlus X4 can automatically flow long text articles into new frames as you create them, show you special characters like tabs, returns and spaces in the main PagePlus view, and let you automatically create initial caps like we’ve used in this paragraph. And that’s not all – text wrap settings can now be stored as a default, and drop cap settings are more easily managed.

Open and Edit Word & OpenOffice.org Documents
PagePlus X4 now imports Word and other word processed files better than ever – including Word 2007 and OpenOffice.org Writer documents, so you can source text in the most popular formats. When you import Word and other similar files, you now get text and pictures together, saving a great deal of time and effort, and there’s no need to have Word installed for this fantastic level of compatibility.

Share your work and collaborate with both PagePlus X4 and PagePlus X3 users. Thanks to some forward-looking developments in the previous version, PagePlus X4 publications can be opened and edited using PagePlus X3 – and of course PagePlus X3 and earlier files can be opened and edited in PagePlus X4.
